The micro-lot represents just a few of the women-produced coffee fams coming out of Guatemala. The La Morena (refers to azucar morena, brown sugar, in Spanish) program works with the International Women's Coffee Alliance (IWCA) to address the genre inequality in coffee farming. With about 70% of the labor force in coffee being represented by women, and only 20%-30% operated by women there is an opportunity to provide resources and education equal to that of their male counterparts. We could not be more ecstatic to work with and source coffee through these programs.
